No, just no. I’ll keep bathing every day. And brushing my teeth at least twice a day. I’ve sat near people with questionable hygiene and they are the only ones happy with their choice.

Bathing Daily Doesn’t Help The Planet
by minimus inthe new york times as well as other news agencies are reporting that in order to help save the planet we should limit our daily bathing.
they say daily bathing really because popular in the 20th century because elites decided to impress and use petroleum based soaps and take advantage of their indoor plumbing.
a lot of this daily bathing ritual was just for show.

Didn’t get the last stimulus as I make too much. The other payments were grossly reduced for the same reason.
I hope there isn’t another stimulus.

Dancing Cockatoo, Living His Best Life, a Lesson For All of Us
by Simon inso this is a sad story, i believe the cockatoo was neglected after his owner died (relatives just kept it locked up and the cage covered) so it plucked its feathers.
the new owners rescued it and are giving it the care, love, and attention it needs.. they discovered that it loves to dance so they share these adorable videos of it rocking out.. it reminded me what a great lesson there is for all of us - don't wallow in the past, live your best life now and enjoy your new freedom and be happy.. be like griffi.. also, it has way better moves than me.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayos5kvlxn8.

The choice of being alone has never been clearer.
by pistolpete insomething i've noticed is that marriage was the thing for those born before 2010. but today's culture of divorce laws slanted to favor women has forced men to think carefully before signing the marriage certificate.
most of my friends have no intentions of getting married.
all of them have gotten vasectomies, so there is no chance of being blamed for a pregnancy.

@great teacher - I agree, my marriage is the least stressful thing in my life. My husband is my best friend and we are compatible about most things. We’ve been married more than 20 years and are happy.

Do You Think “Normal” Is Ever Going To Happen Again?
by minimus insince covid, our lives have all been affected.
do you think people will ever get back to normal, pre-covid?
are masks, vaccinations and social distancing the “new normal “?.
-
just fine
I think as more people get back to normal - more people will want to get back to normal. I’m over everyone trying to scare me.
I got the shots and am doing what I want. We have tickets to an arena concert in a few days with no social distancing requirements. If it’s not something you are comfortable with the musician suggested you don’t buy a ticket.

Saving Money While Stuck At Home
by Simon inso you're stuck at home, you may be worried about your income, welcome to the world of filling your stuck-in-the-house time with saving some money!.
here in canada, our energy costs are going up because we have a carbon tax.
today, in the middle of the crisis, trudeau is raising it by 50%, probably as some perverse "thank you" to all the truckers delivering vital goods.

Can we stick to topics that we came that we came to this forum in the first place?
by James Jack ini don’t care about politics, books you are reading, movies and tv programs you’re watching, etc..

Sometimes those “off topic” posts are where I learn the most.
Some of them have made me examine beliefs and attitudes I had that were holding me back.
If it’s not something that interests me I just skip it.

Havent gone to the kingdom hall in ten years but may have to go back...
by Joliette inmade a big mistake of talking about being raised as a jehovah's witness to some old friends and family.
people have told me that i am still a jws even though i've never been baptized.
i'm in school for social services, dealing with student loan debt, and a lot of other debt.

One thing that leaving the JWs taught me is that I have to be able to take care of myself. I am female as well.
When I left I was completely alone and cut off from family and friends. I had bad things happen and had to deal with them on my own. (Car accident, injuries, other health issues) There were no safety nets, no home to run to. I did it, I learned, I survived, and then thrived.
The witnesses don’t care for their own unless they get something in return. Create your own safety net, learn to rely on yourself. Looking for a man, a religion, or a parent as a safety net is leaving your security in someone else’s hands........ I’ll never do that again.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the 2nd best time is now.

I’ve won two all inclusive trips - both were so much fun.
I have a side business consulting and had an event I had to work at a resort/casino for a weekend. The travel was paid for as part of the contract and I got paid my consulting fee, but I won $2500 too so it was a profitable weekend.
Another time I won two slot jackpots in an hour one for $750 and one for $500.
I won a $1k prize at work. A $1200 slot jackpot at the Vegas airport.More concert tickets than I can count. One year I won tickets to every concert at a particular venue for the whole year.
Lots of other things - my friends tease me about having a “lucky life”.
I get to a casino a couple times a year and look forward to the fun.

You always have choices. You do not need to go back to the Witnesses. If you want to - that is your choice.
You can go to school to get a new career, you can meet new people by volunteering in your community, you can learn new things about planning for retirement and budgeting. All of it takes effort and you have to want to do them.
In reading your post it seems you feel like you are missing something in your life and you think the Witnesses are going to fill that void. In my experience looking for someone else to fill a void doesn’t work.
